  1. Another good discussion.

This is one of those books that I don't mind going back to and re-reading. The political world building is in-depth and nuanced. Character driven along with the story taking you in unexpected directions. The issue of xenocide is not just passed over and the whole video game story arc concludes in an unforseen way. Just so much to like along with some just plain fun elements. Although it also has a seriousness about the situation regarding what they hid from Ender.

I have also read all of the other prequels/sequels. The direct sequels were interesting, but I was not as invested in them. I found them worth reading, just probably not to revisit. Jimmy Akin some years back wrote reviews for each of these books on his blog.

The Shadow Saga is the series that I most enjoyed. The whole story of Bean and the subsequent years is just so good. That one I have re-read. When I had first heard that the Formic War prequels were being created, I was not much interested. After all we know some of what happened. So I was happy to find that I greatly enjoyed them for the same reasons I liked Ender's game. So far the same is true of the first entry in the Second Formic War's book.
